Looks like Mariah Carey, just like any newly-minted bride-to-be, couldn't wait to show off her tremendous engagement ring! Hey, we can't blame the Grammy-winning star. If we had 35-carats adorning our ring finger, we'd be showing that baby off everywhere from the grocery store to the car wash! But it was the red carpetwhere this famous bride choose to flaunt her new bauble. Mariah Carey and her fiancé James Packer just made their first public appearance since their engagement — and all eyes were on Carey's supersized sparkler! But with a diamond that size, is anyone really surprised?
On Thursday night, the to-be-wed twosome took to the red carpet in L.A. to show off their love and Carey's new engagement bauble. "Oh, this little thing?" the singing superstar seemed to say, as she oh-so-casually rested her hand on her thigh. Carey kept the rest of her look simple and sleek, opting for a curve-hugging black gown, straight tresses, and glowing, natural makeup, so her huge emerald-cut stunner could take centerstage. However, we're sure that even if Carey rode in on an elephant, all eyes would still be on her massive ring.
According to nearby insiders, the couple couldn't keep their hand off one another. The "We Belong Together" singer even refused to part from Packer when red carpet photographers were begging for a solo shot! And of course, she couldn't keep from admiring the stunning sparkler on hand all throughout the night. (Truth be told, neither could we!) "She was playing with her ring and twirling it around on her finger. All night," an insider revealed to Us Weekly. "She doesn't bend her finger. It's like she's proudly putting it on display."
