GOLDEN GLOBES 2016:WINNERS LIST

Neon Fix

Awards for Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Brie Larson and Jennifer Lawrence

The Revenant
was the big success story of the 2016 Golden Globes, winning the awards for Best Motion Picture (Drama), Best Director for Alejandro Iñárritu and Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio – the strongest indicator yet that this could finally be the year he lands that long-awaited Oscar.

Thanks to the Golden Globes splitting the major film categories up into either drama and musical or comedy (unlike the Oscars, which doesn't), the cast and crew of The Martian also had cause for celebration after being named Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), with Best Actor for Matt Damon.

Film awards also went to Brie Larson (Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama – The Room); Jennifer Lawrence (Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy – Joy); and Kate Winslet (Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture – Steve Jobs); while Lady Gaga picked up her first ever acting award for Best Actress in a Limited TV Series thanks to her role in American Horror Story: Hotel
