2015'S MOST GOOGLED BEAUTY TERMS

Neon Fix

From the classic make-up buys to the more puzzling hairstyles, here are this year’s most popular Google searches:-

Fishtail braid

It’s a look adopted by regularly by the A-list, including Blake Lively and Margot Robbie, on and off the red carpet, so it’s no surprise that the fish tail braid was the most-searched-for term on Google.

Red lipstick

A striking red lip is classic beauty look all year round and the Google stats prove it.
Bazaar’s favourite formulas include: Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in Ruby Red, £34; Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Love Bite, £23; Tom Ford Lip Colour in Sunset Blvd, £38; Dior Le Rouge Lipstick in 999, £26.50; and YSL Le Rouge Pur Couture No 1 Le Rouge, £25.

MAC Cinderella

MAC is renowned for its collaborations and themed collections. Interestingly, it was the Cinderella line that was most popular online with the Disney-fan girls.

Cornrows

Kylie Jenner sparked controversy in July when she uploaded this picture onto her Instagram. In doing so, Jenner also caused a surge in people searching for cornrows.

Pigtails

Perhaps one of the more intriguing terms on the list, pigtails was the fifth most-searched-for term. We’re not sure who or why people are Googling, but we are hoping it won’t catch on as a trend any time soon…

Dark lipstick

Dark lipstick is a vague term: it could be a gothic, black shade or a more favourable deep, berry brown. For the purpose of promoting flattering make-up, here are Bazaar’s favourite dark tones: Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer Lipstick in Rebel Pop, £16; Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Empress, £22.50; Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned, £19; MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Positively Dashing, £18.

Brown eyeshadow

Brown eyeshadow is another baffling search term. We’re assuming it’s because it’s a flattering shade for all skin types and eye colours. Plus, the shade can be used to contour to enhance your natural bone structure.
Bazaar’s favourites include: MAC Pro Paint Pot in Groundwork, £16; Lancôme Ombre Hypnose Stylo in Brun Captivant, £20; and Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Rich Brown, £17.50.

Cut fringe

Fringes have always been popular. This year, both Beyoncé and Kendall Jenner stepped out with bangs, while celebrities such as Zooey Deschanel and Alexa Chung are constant champions of the look. In case you're tempted, here is Bazaar's fringe inspiration...

Louboutin lipstick

Following the success of his nail polishes, the shoe designer Christian Louboutin unveiled the next step in his beauty emporium – the Louboutin lipstick – and Google went wild for it.

Christian Louboutin Lip Colours, £60

bareMinerals make-up

It is the brand that brought mineral make-up to the UK and since then bareMinerals has been a consistent favourite among beauty editors and make-up artists. It’s worth noting that the brand also makes the UK’s best-selling make-up brushes too.
