HOW TO DRESS YOUR LEGS
Neon Fix
1. Snuggle up
SacaiJumpers of brobdingnagian proportions and in heavy wools were all over the autumn/winter 2015 catwalks – see Max Mara, Sacai and Alexander Wang for details. Conserve heat up top with one of these ear-grazing rollnecks and you won’t need to worry about your knees.
2. Go long
VetementsVetements made the maxi wool jumper dress a viable alternative to hosiery, as did Erdem and Joseph. The way to wear it now? With jazzy diamante cuffs as per the Vetements catwalk.
3. Sweep the floor
ChloeFloor-sweeping coats are having a moment. At Chloé flashes of bare leg appeared beneath heavy shearlings and wools; at Dries Van Noten the same went for brocade-embellished evening coats; and at The Row, hammered silk dressing gown coats preserved their wearer’s modesty. Forget the mid-length cover-up: ankle-skimming is far more thermally pleasing. Hillier Bartley offer the cosiest.
4. Chunky socks with everything
Thought chunky socks were best suited to weekends in the country? Think again – this season they go with everything. Margaret Howell does the best chunky ribbed versions; elsewhere Pepper & Mayne has 100 per cent cashmere lounge socks in rusty autumnal colours.
5. Thigh's the limit
Burberry ProrsumThigh-high boots are the raciest way to avoid tights all winter, as seen at Burberry. Shelve last season’s Seventies-inspired knee-high versions and prepare to encase your legs in an instant look-enhancer. Added bonus? When surpassing hemlines cuissardes make legs look like they go on for miles and miles
