Lupita Nyong'o stepped out looking stylish as usual in New York.

The fashionable actress donned a distinctive brown and white cape covered with a black paint-splattered pattern while on her way to The Public Theater in Manhattan, where she is performing in the play Eclipsed.

The Oscar-winner, who was recently hit by reports she has alienated her fellow cast members with her diva antics, smiled and held onto her hood as she headed into the venue.

She added black patent-leather ankle boots that showed off her long legs.

The Mexican-born star wore large round sunglasses with purple tinted lenses, and pretty diamond earrings.

The actress appeared upbeat, despite being hit by claims that her 'diva' behavior behind the scenes have upset her costars.

A source told MailOnline on Wednesday that Lupita has angered her Ecplised costars by refusing their lunch invitations, and showed up with a large entourage for a cast party when the others were not allowed to bring guests. 

One cast mate even reportedly left the show because she was sick of the tension. 

The Yale School of Drama graduate Lupita was once turned down for the role in Eclipsed, but now that she is an Oscar-winning star, the theater is bending over backwards to keep her happy, the source said.

The sold-out play will soon be transferring to Broadway in February, and Lupita will be allowed to choose which costars will be brought over to the new production.
