Boldly painted blue lids have always conjured up images of 80s divas and prepubescent girls experimenting with their mother’s makeup, but this spring, the perennially unused shade is no longer reserved for tacky themed parties or those just discovering makeup. Instead, backstage beauty artists at Fashion Week played with every blue hue they could find from azure, aqua, sapphire and sky to deep cobalts and sheer sea foams at shows like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Badgley Mischka, Anna Sui and Prada. Whether it's a flash of electric, neon blue on the lower lash line or bold blocks of opaque color swept across the lids, it’s high-time to feel a little blue.
